ASAP women’s safety app
- Type:
- Internships
- Description
About ASAP
Women shouldn't have to feel unsafe. This is unfortunately not the case. Women feel unsafe a lot: when walking home, on dates, public spaces etc. ASAP is a safety app that puts a woman's support system right in her pocket. With one tap on the ASAP alert button, your inner circle gets a critical notification that cuts through every do-not-disturb filter, because in that moment, seconds matter. The app also includes a real-time location share and a "Follow Me" check-in function so friends and family always know you arrived safely. ASAP combines all essential safety features into one urgent, intuitive experience. We're pre-launch, building toward a release before summer 2025, and we're looking for someone to help us get there. What you'll be working on:
This is not a coffee-fetching internship. You'll be working directly with the founder/ co-founders on the things that actually determine whether ASAP succeeds. That means diving into market research to understand the landscape, our users, and potential B2B partners. It means stress-testing our business model and helping identify the right revenue strategy. And it means helping us build the foundation for funding conversations, with grants, impact investors, or university programs.
Concretely, you'll be doing market research into the women's safety space and competitor landscape, validating our B2B proposition through outreach and interviews, supporting the development of our go-to-market strategy, and contributing to pitch materials and funding applications.- Profile
Who we're looking for
You're a student in Economics, Business Administration, or a related program at Utrecht University School of Economics. You're drawn to startups not despite the uncertainty but because of it. You think commercially but care about impact. You take initiative without needing to be told twice, and you're not afraid to pick up the phone and call a potential partner cold.
You have strong analytical and communication skills, you're comfortable working independently, and you genuinely believe that what ASAP is building matters. Experience with market research or business development is a plus, but hunger and curiosity matter more.
You're available for at least 3 days a week (24–32 hours) starting this from March (we are open to discuss post-march registrations). What we offer:
A front-row seat at a pre-launch startup with real social impact. Direct collaboration with the founder. Room to shape your own role as we grow. And the kind of experience that actually stands out on a CV because you'll have done real work on a real product.- Application Procedure
Send an email to contact@asapsafety.nl with the subject line "ASAP Internship — [Your Name]" and include two things: your CV and a short motivation letter of no more than one page explaining why ASAP and why now. There's no template, just be direct and tell us what you'd bring.
