INTERN - Sustainable Procurement & Administration, I (Temporary Job Opening)
This is an exciting opportunity to obtain an in-depth understanding of the functioning of UNRWA and its work in the area of sustainable procurement and to liaising with colleagues in the field level and across headquarters divisions.
The intern will be involved in UNRWA engagement in sustainable procurement, logistics, facility, fleet management.

Under the supervision of the Chief of Central Support Services and Head of Policy, Monitoring and Compliance, the intern will support various aspects of sustainability, knowledge management and development of strategies and approaches to relevant thematic areas.

If you are passionate about Procurement, Logistics, Fleet Management, Property Management and Warehouse Management and other related topics, in support of making a lasting difference for Palestine refugees, an internship with UNRWA will give you the opportunity to work on the provision of advice, training and assistance on matters and policies relating to UNRWA's mandate and areas of operation within the Central Support Services Division, in UNRWA-HQ Amman.
UNRWA human development and humanitarian services encompass primary and vocational education, primary health care, relief and social services, infrastructure and camp improvement, microfinance and emergency response, including in situations of armed conflict.
The mandate of the Central Support Services Division (CSSD) is to ensure continued efficient, effective and high-quality support for substantive programmes in Headquarters and Field Offices in the areas of procurement, travel management, and other general administrative services. CSSD is composed of 70 staff members.

Application Procedure

Education
Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) from an accredited educational institution in business administration, public administration. Facility, conference and asset management qualification or experience would be considered an asset

Work Experience
No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship.

Languages
Applicants should demonstrate excellent English communication skills, both orally and in writing, including the ability to draft documents in English.

Interns are not financially remunerated by the UNRWA. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, applicants may be requested to undertake the internship remotely in view of constraints regarding visa issuance, international travel and access to UN premises. Applicants must be willing and prepared to undertake the internship remotely for a part or the entirety of the internship.
